2017.08.30 1st year review/stakeholders meeting
Date
Summary
An LCOO 1 year review meeting was held August 31. Executives attended from AT&T, NTT, Reliance Jio and SKTelecom. Status report LCOO Year 1 Review Update v3.pdf was provided and the focus of the conversation was on high level strategies and brainstorm of next steps/year 2 commitments.
Next Steps
1. Continue support for the LCOO - due to the relationships we've built and common work that we've now started in both Containerized Control Plane and Extreme Testing, we are comfortable to continue.
2. New Focus on recruiting like minded members - actively expand membership to like minded operators. We agreed to coordiante reach out to members through direct contact to existing relationships and at events. The coordination team agreed to update a value statement so we could all be on the same page. Initial event for reach out will be the Sydney Summit.
3. Focus the LCOO mission on connecting of like minded portions of our own operations and development teams. Identify the key areas of overlap so that the actual work can be channeled in OpenStacks Software Interest Groups (SIGS) and projects. This was proposed as a monthly or bi-monthly sharing session at which each of us would take turns educating and pitching ideas: Initial ideas that came out of the strategy sharing include:
1. OpenContrail (AT&T & Reliance Jio)
2. Masakari (NTT)
3. Storlets (NTT)
4. ONAP (AT&T)
5. OpenStack-Helm related projects e.g. Armada (AT&T)
6. Resiliency Testing (NTT&AT&T)
7. LMA and Prometheus efforts (at SKT and AT&T and Reliance Jio)
8. Containerized Control Plane training&documentation (SKTelecom and AT&T)
